Marinda turned 18
March 20th was Marinda's 18th birthday. It was on a Friday, and all Marinda's buddies were in NYC with Choir tour. Nycole, Marinda and I went and got Pedicures, hamburgers and a marziapan cake. The only part we had the camera for was the cake- so Nycole went crazy!

Trip to Israel
January was a fabulous month. Mark and I went to Houston for a few days to visit Mom and Dad, and then on to Jerusalem! Yes the Holy Land was our next stop, and although the flights were long, it was a wonderful trip. It brought more clearly to our minds all the events of that wonderful land.
Here are a few pictures.

Merry Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas with our family. We got to talk to Elder Tylka, what a joy that was. He is well and had 3 dinner appointments- don't think he will starve today! We played with Korban and Savannah, and enjoyed having Troy, Kim and Nycole here for the festivities.
We are so blessed and are grateful for our blessings.

Halloween Cookies
Our family tradition at conference time during the priesthood session has been for the girls to get together and play - before grandkids this was shopping. After grandkids this was usually going to the park and having fun. The weather was cold and rainy on Saturday so we decorated Halloween Cookies.
This one is for Elder Tylka.

Savannah loves to eat the decorations.
Nycole was up and visiting, and it was a great time.

Hurricaine Ike
I went to visit my parents in Houston last week, and ended up caught in Hurricane Ike. Ike roared in on September 13-14, and I was to head home on Sunday the 15th. Needless to say I stayed a few extra days with no power, and no planes leaving. This picture is what a lot of the area looked like after the storm. All the family are well, with no damage to life, limb or homes to speak of and the power came back on right after I left. Well, had I known I would have left earlier. Here are pictures of Grandma and Grandpa- powerless!

2008
I find it hard to believe that that a New Year has begun already! I am working on getting the house cleaned up and out. Several trips have been made to DI and with Nycole moving out tomorrow, I have another big pile to go. Maybe someday I will get finished- but do you ever get organized or just work at being organized. A very zen question.
